Component-Based Calculation

We calculate power consumption for each component using real-world TDP (Thermal Design Power) and TGP (Total Graphics Power) values from actual laptop hardware specifications.

Comprehensive Component Database

Our database includes Intel Core (Y/U/P/H/HX/HK series), AMD Ryzen (U/HS/H/HX), Apple Silicon (M1/M2/Pro/Max), NVIDIA GPUs (MX to RTX 4090), AMD Radeon GPUs, plus displays, RAM, storage, and peripherals.

Display Power Accuracy

Screen size, resolution (FHD/QHD/4K), and refresh rate (60Hz-240Hz+) all impact power consumption. A 17" 4K 240Hz display uses 4x more power than a 13" FHD 60Hz screen.

Safety Margin Applied

We add a 20% safety margin to account for charging efficiency losses, peak power spikes during intensive tasks, and to ensure the adapter isn't constantly running at maximum capacity (which reduces its lifespan).

Standard Wattage Matching

Results are rounded to actual adapter wattages available in the market (45W, 65W, 90W, 120W, 150W, 180W, 200W, 230W, 240W, etc.) so you can find a real product to purchase.

Category Validation

Gaming laptops with high-end GPUs are validated to recommend at least 200-240W. Ultrabooks get 45-65W. Workstations with professional GPUs get 180-280W. This prevents unrealistic recommendations.
